*More photos to come!*
I designed, printed and crafted our wedding invitation set and first things first – prepare for weeks of work!! But so worth it when it comes out exactly as you picture it :)
I wanted a pretty set with a rustic element, so we went with soft pink and cream for the pretty, and the grey/brown colour to bring some earthyness to it. On top of that, we added the piece of twine with a little knot, wrapped around the inside of the invitation, below a line that said “as they tie the knot under the maple tree”. Cute, right!
The set contained the main invitation, an itinerary with map, a music request card and the rsvp card. There was a main outside envelope with liner, and a smaller rsvp card envelope as well. Everything fit in the pockets that I ordered from Cards & Pockets along with the gorgeous envelopes and liners. I bought two packs of 12×12 scrapbook card stock at Winners, believe it or not, in that perfect cream colour. I cut the sheets down to fit in my printer and voila! Heavy, textured card for the whole set. I even bought the paper cutter at Winners.
All in all, it took about 3 weeks from initial design to print to assembly, just working a few hours here and there after work each night and on weekends. We made about 65 invitations total. The feedback on them was probably the best part – my favourites being the utter surprise that these were handmade. That’s what you get from a DIY girl! xo
